A Trust program to support healthcare when a critical event occurs

The “Trust Health Care Provider Support” program aims to provide moral and psychological support to health care providers affected by the occurrence of a serious, unexpected medical event for the patient, as they represent the “second victim,” within the framework of the organization’s strategy to enhance the quality of life in the work environment and highlight the focus of promoting mental health. And mentality, and spreading a culture of enabling employees to achieve intellectual, physical, and psychological development.

The “Trust” program, which was developed based on international best practices based on scientific evidence, seeks to enhance the rights of healthcare providers in this case, through 4 elements: Fair treatment, respect, understanding, empathy, supportive care, and transparency.

The organization adopted a central committee to follow up and implement the program, taking into account supporting the culture of patient safety as an essential part of implementing the program, through developing supportive policies, procedures, and instructions, and developing a training program for program coordinators in hospitals, in conjunction with identifying resources and tools to support caregivers when a serious event occurs to the patient.
