Medical & Surgical Excellence
Dr. AlQassimi is the first Emirati specialized in Aesthetic & Functional Gynecology. She was the first ObGyn to introduce innovative procedures to the UAE. She was the first Emirati senior member of the European Society of Aesthetic Gynaecology. Dr. AlQassimi is the General Secretary of the Emirates Medical Association Board of Directors, and has been elected President of the Emirates Gynecology & Obstetrics Society. Dr. AlQassimi has served in the public healthcare sector for more than 25 years. She earned a Master’s in Healthcare Management from Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and has been part of the transition team that led the reform of the healthcare sector from the Department of Health and Medical Services to Dubai Health Authority (2006–2008). Known for developing evidence-based care protocols and mentoring Ob/Gyn resident doctors, Dr. AlQassimi led the Obstetrics & Gynecology Emergency Development Project in Latifa Hospital, which shortly earned JCI accreditation before she moved to the private sector.
Shk. Dr. AlQassimi is a KOL in her medical field and a social development expert. She led a crucial team that designed the Dubai Disability Strategy 2020, reported to the Higher Committee for the Protection of Rights for People with Disabilities, and was among the UAE official delegation to the UN CRPD with active participation in the conference.

Dr. AlQassimi earned a 2nd Master’s in International Business Law from Université Paris Panthéon-Assas. She is a graduate of Mohammed Bin Rashid Center for Leadership Development – Impactful Leadership Program.
Advocacy, Boards & Awards
Shk. Dr. Alia AlQassimi has served on multiple boards including Dubai Autism Center, the Consultative Council of the University of UAE’s College of Humanitarian & Social Studies, and was a founding board member of Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP). Dr. AlQassimi serves as General Secretary of the Emirates Medical Association & President of the Ob/Gyn Society.
