Al Kuwait Hospital Dubai Publishes Peer-Reviewed Research Compendium Featuring Over 50 Scientific Abstracts
Emirates Health Services (EHS), represented by Al Kuwait Hospital Dubai, has achieved a new scientific milestone with the publication of the outcomes of its 1st Research Week in a peer-reviewed research compendium featuring more than 50 scientific abstracts. This achievement reflects the growing research and innovation ecosystem within EHS and reinforces its position as an active contributor to medical knowledge production and evidence-based healthcare practices.
Dr. Sharifa Alamadi, Director of Al Kuwait Hospital Dubai, affirmed that this achievement embodies EHS’s vision of embedding a culture of scientific research as a core pillar for advancing the healthcare system. She added: "The publication of the Research Week outcomes in a reviewed scientific issue represents an extension of Emirates Health Services’ efforts to build an institutional environment where research and innovation are integral to clinical practice, and where scientific knowledge is translated into solutions that support the quality and sustainable development of healthcare. This achievement reflects Al Kuwait Hospital Dubai's commitment to empowering researchers, promoting high-quality scientific output, and fostering an institutional culture rooted in continuous learning and excellence."
The scientific publication includes research conducted at EHS facilities or in collaboration with its researchers, spanning a wide range of specialties, including internal medicine, surgery, rheumatology, nursing, pharmacy, public health, allied health sciences, and quality and innovation. This reflects the breadth of research activity and its integration with clinical practice across EHS facilities. All published abstracts underwent an independent, confidential peer-review process based on rigorous criteria to assess quality, methodology, originality, and scientific impact, ensuring alignment with international best practices in academic publishing.
Dr. Suad Hannawi, Chair of the Organizing Committee for the 1st Research Week and Consultant Rheumatologist at Emirates Health Services, said: "The publication of this number of scientific abstracts in a peer-reviewed research compendium stands as evidence of the success of the vision behind Research Week, which aimed to build a sustainable system for knowledge production. The training programs and scientific collaboration that took place during the week empowered researchers to develop research projects suitable for publication according to international academic standards, enhancing the scientific presence of Emirates Health Services at both the regional and international levels."
This publication represents one of the most notable direct outcomes of the first Emirates Health Services Research Week, organized by Al Kuwait Hospital Dubai in February 2025 with the aim of instilling a culture of scientific research, building research capabilities, and transforming scientific ideas into projects ready for publication in peer-reviewed journals. The week featured a comprehensive scientific program that included specialized workshops on topics such as research methodology, research ethics, research proposal writing, biostatistics, and translational research, alongside scientific sessions for presenting and discussing research, with the participation of a select group of experts, academics, and researchers.
This achievement reflects Emirates Health Services' commitment to developing an integrated research and innovation ecosystem, promoting evidence-based medical practices, and empowering research talent to produce scientific knowledge that supports the quality of healthcare services, reinforcing EHS contribution to achieving the UAE's goals of building a knowledge-based economy driven by innovation and excellence.
