Emirates Health Services Announces 813 Patients Benefited from Dental Implant Services in 2024

08 October 2024

Emirates Health Services (EHS) has reported impressive growth in its dental implant services, with the number of procedures increasing from 110 in 2020 to 813 in 2024. This significant rise underscores EHS’ commitment to delivering cutting-edge healthcare solutions for dental restoration, enhancing patients' quality of life and supporting the National Strategy for Wellbeing 2031.

HE. Dr. Essam Al Zarooni, Acting Executive Director of the Clinical Services Sector at EHS, emphasized that the growth in dental implants reflects EHS’ dedication to the directives of our wise leadership, which focuses on providing exceptional healthcare services and improving the health and well-being of both citizens and residents. This initiative aligns perfectly with the "We the UAE 2031" vision and the UAE Centennial 2071, which aim to establish a sustainable healthcare system that meets the future aspirations of the nation.

Dr. Haifa Hannawi, Director of the Dental Services Department at EHS, highlighted EHS’ commitment to creating a safe and comfortable environment for patients. She stressed the importance of continuous improvement throughout all stages of care, from the initial consultation to recovery. The remarkable success in dental implant procedures is not only due to the advanced technologies and skilled medical staff but also to the personalized attention and care that each patient receives.

Innovative and Smart Technologies

The advanced technologies implemented by Emirates Health Services, under the guidance of its expert medical team, play a crucial role in enhancing the outcomes of dental implant procedures and expediting patient recovery. These innovative solutions empower doctors to provide tailored treatments that cater to the unique needs of each patient. The rising demand for dental implants stems from their numerous health and aesthetic benefits, which often surpass traditional methods like bridges, particularly in preserving surrounding bone and preventing deterioration, while also offering a natural appearance and improved functionality.

Criteria for Successful Dental Implants

To ensure a successful dental implant procedure, doctors require patients to be in good health and at least 18 years old to guarantee complete bone growth. Specific criteria must be met following comprehensive examinations, including general health assessments and CT scans, which evaluate the condition of the surrounding bone and the implant site. This careful evaluation helps minimize the risk of implant failure, especially in cases that necessitate bone reconstruction.

Oral and gum health is essential for the success of the implant procedure. Patients undergo thorough evaluations prior to surgery to confirm the absence of infections, active gum disease, or dental cavities, particularly in teeth adjacent to the implant site.

Commitment to Global Standards

In its efforts to promote public awareness, Emirates Health Services is dedicated to launching ongoing educational campaigns and training programs that emphasize the importance of oral and dental health, as well as the role of dental implants in enhancing quality of life. EHS continues to provide training for its medical professionals in collaboration with local and international research centers to stay updated with the latest and most effective treatment solutions, adhering to global standards.
