Emirates Health Services Board Approves Formation of Development & Improvement and Audit & Risk Committees
The Board of Directors of Emirates Health Services (EHS) held its periodic meeting chaired by His Excellency Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of Health and Prevention and Chairman of the Board. During the meeting, the Board approved the formation of its subcommittees, following the reconstitution of EHS Board of Directors earlier in June.
His Excellency Al Sayegh affirmed that effective governance is a fundamental pillar in building sustainable and high-quality institutions. His Excellency noted that developing the Board’s working framework and its specialised committees improves the quality of decision-making. It also strengthens the efficiency of monitoring and overseeing strategic priorities. This reflects an institutional approach based on efficiency and transparency. It also supports the nation’s vision of building a world-class healthcare system.
His Excellency added that the next phase requires strengthening integration between supervisory and executive roles. It also requires adopting flexible governance frameworks that keep pace with the rapid transformations in the healthcare sector. This will help enhance institutional performance and maximise impact. It will also instill a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Together, these efforts will ensure the continued delivery of sustainable, human-centered healthcare services that meet the community’s aspirations.
The Board approved the formation of the Development and Improvement Committee and the Audit and Risk Committee. These will play a pivotal role in supporting the institutional governance framework, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence, and establishing an integrated performance management system. This system supports EHS’s strategic objectives and enhances its readiness to keep pace with future changes.
Concluding the meeting, the Board affirmed its commitment to continuing efforts to enhance institutional performance, grounded in the principles of governance, excellence, and sustainability. This supports Emirates Health Services’ leadership and reinforces its role in delivering integrated government healthcare services in line with the highest international quality standards.
