The Board of Directors of Emirates Health Services (EHS) held its fourth meeting of 2023, chaired by H.E. Dr. Mohammad Salim Al Olama, Chairman of EHS’ Board of Directors, and with EHS’ Director-General H.E. Dr. Yousif Mohammed Al-Serkal in attendance, to review organisational performance results for the first half of the year.
The meeting explored the results of the first round of major transformational projects for the year 2022-2023, including the Community Mental Health project, Virtual Care Using Metaverse Technology project, and the Integrated Revenue Cycle Management project.
The Board also assessed the primary goals associated with these projects, discussing key interim milestones and the lessons learned. The meeting then reviewed proposals for the second round of major transformative projects for 2023-2024, highlighting their areas of focus and role in achieving the pillars of the UAE Vision 2031.
Moreover, the Board discussed the organisational performance results for the first half of 2023, highlighting and discussing the key findings, challenges, and progress in performance on strategic and operational levels, as well as service delivery and government enablers. They went on to issue a series of recommendations and decisions.
H.E. Dr. Al Olama emphasized EHS’ commitment to making the right strategic decisions to enhance performance across all organisational units, healthcare facilities, and service delivery channels that fall under Emirates Health Services. “Continuous improvement in quality, efficiency, and excellence in the healthcare sector is key for providing sustainable, top-quality healthcare practices to the community; achieving the ‘We the UAE 2031’ vision; and providing an advanced and comprehensive healthcare system for various segments of the community,” H.E. applauded the efforts of all Board members and their pivotal roles in offering support and guidance to achieve EHS’ strategic goals.
H.E. Dr. Al-Serkal commended the results achieved during the first round of transformative projects, as well as the organisational performance results for the first half of 2023. H.E. highlighted the importance of implementing successful experiences, adopting best practices, and working collaboratively to achieve common goals that enhance health and medical care in the UAE. This is achieved through continuous innovation, adapting to global developments and future medical challenges, through achieving utmost readiness and preparing for the future. This ensures the sustainability and quality of healthcare services, paving the way for fulfilling the UAE’s ambitious vision, as well as its short- and long-term goals.
