As part of its commitment to recognising the efforts of its strategic partners and empowering innovators, Emirates Health Services (EHS) concluded its participation in UAE Innovation Month with a closing ceremony, where it honoured partners and team members whose innovative healthcare solutions contributed to the development of the work environment.
The ceremony was attended by His Excellency Dr. Yousif Mohammed Al-Serkal, Director General of EHS, and Dr. Kulthum Al Balushi, Chief Innovation Officer and Director of the Training and Development Centre at EHS, along with department directors, employees, and strategic partners.
“We have made significant strides in our efforts to support innovation within our institutional work environment, and every year, we see yet another remarkable development in our innovation culture,” H.E. Dr. Al-Serkal said. “Innovation is now a daily practice, the results of which can be seen across various fields of healthcare and through growing integration with our strategic partners, who we consider to be an essential element in ensuring our success and achieving our strategic goals. Our objectives, in turn, align with the ‘We the UAE 2031’ vision in the lead-up to the UAE Centennial 2071 Plan, which will consolidate the sustainability of the healthcare sector.”
“As we conclude this month, which has become a milestone in the UAE’s journey, we are committed to recognising our innovators and strategic partners, and highlighting their pivotal role, and with that in mind, we hold this ceremony to honour them and express our utmost appreciation for their efforts. We will always support our innovators and adapt their ideas and projects, which support our ambitions to develop our healthcare system,” H.E. added.
For her part, Dr. Kulthum Al Balushi explained that: “Our strategic partners and innovators have enriched this month’s activities with innovative projects and initiatives, asserting their support role and cooperation, and promoting the concept and culture of teamwork in our work environment. Emirates Health Services presented a series of activities within its agenda that are consistent with the objectives of Innovation Month, most notably, EHS’ Innovation Strategy 2023-2026.”
“By participating in Innovation Month, EHS sought to raise employees’ awareness with a workshop on ‘Developing Prototypes’, all while encouraging and enabling them to realize their innovative ideas,” Dr. Al Balushi said. “With our ‘Research Clinic’ event, we highlighted the latest research done by our team, in order to encourage and empower employees, and promote a culture of research and innovation. We also went on to showcase best practices and the latest projects in the field of innovation and sustainability in the health sector at the ‘Sustainability and Innovation in Health’ forum and exhibition, which we organised at Al Qassimi Woman and Children Hospital in Sharjah.”
The month’s activities included launching the EHS Innovation Strategy 2023-2026 at the Arab Health Exhibition and Conference 2023, organising seminars on various innovation-related topics, and hosting the ‘Health through Art’ exhibition on the sidelines of the Innovation and Sustainability in Health Forum and Exhibition, which displayed works of art, paintings, and sketches made from recycled medical supplies. EHS also participated in the ‘UAE Innovates’ exhibition, organised by the Mohammed bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation at Global Village, presenting a number of innovative, artificial-intelligence-powered projects.
