Emirates Health Services Hosts "Future Readiness Lab"

Emirates Health Services organized the "Future Readiness Lab", featuring prominent attendees including of H.E. Dr. Yousif Mohamed Al Serkal, Director General of EHS, along with representatives from the Government Development & The Future Office, the Ministry of Health and Prevention, the Institute of Public Health at United Arab Emirates University, and various specialists from governmental and academic entities. The event also welcomed a selection of local and international health experts.

The "Future Readiness Lab" included a series of intensive workshops that addressed a range of topics, such as emerging trends in primary and specialized healthcare, mental health, public health, and the application of advanced technology and big data to enhance health services and create innovative models. Experts actively participated, offering forward-thinking insights that align with Emirates Health Services' mission to improve readiness, utilize opportunities, and learn from global practices. This effort aims to shape a comprehensive strategic plan for EHS covering the years 2027-2031, in line with national priorities to boost sustainability and excellence in the health sector.

H.E. Dr. Abdulaziz Al Zarooni, Acting Executive Director of the Financial Sector and Support Services at EHS, highlighted that this event exemplifies the UAE's vision for developing a comprehensive health system that is prepared for the future. He noted that EHS is committed to transforming health service delivery by establishing a digital infrastructure, investing in innovation, and developing proactive solutions that enhance community well-being. Al Zarooni emphasized that this initiative reflects the leadership's vision for providing world-class health services, promoting sustainability, and positioning the UAE as a global hub for health excellence.

H.E. also expressed gratitude for the national efforts made by specialized teams across various governmental and private entities to achieve health sector excellence. Al Zarooni stated that the event underscores the EHS’ dedication to addressing future challenges and improving the health system's efficiency to deliver optimal health outcomes for the community, grounded in innovative models that meet the highest international standards and foster the integration of health services within a sustainable and adaptable framework.

H.E. Atraf Shehab, Chief Executive Officer & Executive Director at the Government Development & The Future Office, explained that the lab is part of a broader series of initiatives aimed at collaboratively designing projects that enhance governmental readiness for future changes and opportunities in various sectors. By leveraging future design tools, the initiative empowers government employees to enhance their project readiness skills.

H.E. emphasized the importance of crafting proactive solutions that consider global changes and the impacts of emerging technologies on priority sectors. This collaboration supports the leadership role of Emirates Health Services in anticipating and shaping the future, seizing emerging opportunities, and addressing challenges with innovative solutions.

At the end of the event, participants reviewed the outcomes of the workshops and discussions, which generated proposals for significant projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing the integration of the health system and supporting a smart, sustainable transformation to ensure the UAE's health services are ready for the future.
