Emirates Health Services launches ‘Ibtisamah’ clinic specializing in minimally invasive dentistry
Emirates Health Services (EHS) has announced the launch of the Ibtisamah project, a specialised clinic that adopts a modern concept of preventive care and provides gentle medical interventions for oral and dental diseases, moving away from traditional treatment methods that rely on drilling and anaesthesia. The project aligns with the UAE’s drive to enhance quality of life, promote healthy lifestyles, and embrace the latest global scientific practices in healthcare.
His Excellency Dr Essam Al Zarooni, Executive Director of the Medical Services Sector at EHS, affirmed that: “Launching this project embodies our commitment at Emirates Health Services to developing healthcare models that focus on improving customer experience through innovative solutions grounded in the most recent global scientific evidence”.
H.E. Al Zarooni explained that the project reflects EHS’s strategic direction towards reshaping the concept of minimally invasive dental care by providing more comfortable, efficient, and sustainable services that help enhance the community’s health and quality of life.
For her part, Dr Haifa Hannawi, Director of the Dental Services Department at EHS, confirmed that the project marks a significant shift in the approach to treating tooth decay, using modern, internationally approved techniques that help preserve natural tooth tissue, reduce complex interventions, and improve the patient journey by providing a pain‑free treatment experience at a lower cost.
EHS has built a comprehensive ecosystem to support this shift, Dr Hannawi explained, noting that this includes providing the latest and most advanced treatments and materials, most notably peptides, which help prevent tooth decay. Additionally, she continued, EHS organised five specialised training workshops for dentists last year and continues to offer individual training sessions to promote this modern treatment philosophy.
The new service is based on methods and techniques recommended by international scientific bodies, including the American Dental Association, and focuses on preventing and treating oral and dental diseases through gentle medical interventions that reduce the need for traditional procedures, while keeping pace with the latest global trends in dentistry. This methodology also serves to enhance oral health and reduce complications associated with tooth decay, which is one of the most widespread diseases worldwide.
As part of the first phase of the project, EHS has established the first clinic specialising in this type of procedures at Al Madina Health Centre in Ajman, with the aim of spreading awareness of minimally invasive dentistry concepts in the community and enhancing professional knowledge among dentists of this advanced approach.
The Ibtisamah project is set to expand in the future to cover the various medical facilities under the Emirates Health Services umbrella, supporting the organisation’s strategic direction towards building a more sustainable and innovative health system.
