In line with its strategic objectives to enhance preparedness for the future and foster a culture of proactivity and innovation, Emirates Health Services (EHS) organised an intensive five-day training programme titled ‘Future Foresight Programme’ for healthcare leaders, in collaboration with the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT Dubai).

Department and hospital directors, alongside section heads from across EHS took part in the programme, which reflects the ongoing efforts to develop government leadership, empower national talents, and prepare them for the future.

The initiative aligns with the UAE government’s focus on building resilient institutions equipped to navigate future challenges, establishing an innovation-driven work environment, proactively identifying upcoming opportunities and risks, and ensuring the healthcare sector’s sustainability and global competitiveness.

His Excellency Dr. Abdulaziz Al Zarooni, Executive Director of the Financial Sector and Support Services at EHS, affirmed that investing in strategic leadership development and enabling leaders to employ advanced tools for thinking ahead is a key strategic priority for Emirates Health Services. The healthcare sector is experiencing rapid transformations, he added, which requires capable leaders who can anticipate changes and make flexible, data-driven decisions.

“By collaborating with the Rochester Institute of Technology in Dubai – a world-renowned institution offering specialised executive programmes rooted in analysis, innovation, and strategic decision-making – the programme offers a prime example of the advanced level of integration between the healthcare and academic sectors,” H.E. Dr. Al Zarooni explained. “This partnership aims to support the exchange of best practices and practical expertise, thereby enabling the development of an innovative, sustainable healthcare system capable of aligning with the UAE’s future aspirations.”

The programme featured several specialised modules, including principles of future foresight, global trends and emerging technologies, and development of proactive scenarios to create a clear roadmap for the future. Additionally, it covered data analysis and strategic planning with actionable steps. The programme aims to enhance participants’ capacity to lead organisational transformation efficiently and sustainably.

Furthermore, the programme included innovation labs and interactive sessions designed to develop future-ready solutions for healthcare challenges, promote a proactive and collaborative mindset, and foster a more resilient organisational environment, prepared for future changes.

Organising advanced programmes of this kind underscores Emirates Health Services’ firm commitment to investing in human capital, fostering a culture of innovation and lifelong learning, and building a future-ready health system that is flexible, efficient, and sustainable. These efforts aim to keep pace with global developments and position EHS as a leader in healthcare services.
