Emirates Health Services organizes training programme on measuring and evaluating clinical training effectiveness
Emirates Health Services (EHS), represented by its Nursing Department, organised a training programme titled ‘Measuring and Evaluating the Effectiveness of Training’ at its Training and Development Centre.
Executed in collaboration with the Medical Education Centre at the University of Sharjah, the initiative reflects EHS’s ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of health education and develop the skills of nursing staff across all of its facilities.
The programme aims to train 54 clinical preceptors from various EHS healthcare facilities through two interactive workshops in June. The goal is to equip participants with advanced knowledge and skills in measuring the impact and effectiveness of educational and training programmes, following best practices from around the world.
Dr. Sumaya Al Blooshi, Director of the Nursing Department at EHS, said: “Organising this training programme forms part of our broader efforts to ensure optimal application of our professional development model for nursing and midwifery staff, which is protected by intellectual property rights from the Ministry of Economy and Tourism. This reflects our commitment to developing an advanced clinical education system rooted in scientific processes and international standards, and designed to strengthen skills among nursing and midwifery staff, thereby improving the quality of patient care. Investing in the capacity-building of clinical preceptors is key for fostering a culture of lifelong learning and professional excellence across our healthcare facilities.”
Dr. Al Blooshi noted that the partnership with the Medical Education Centre at the University of Sharjah demonstrates EHS’s strategic direction towards expanding academic and knowledge-based collaborations, supporting the development of healthcare human capital, and promoting evidence-based, data-driven education practices.
The programme features specialised modules designed to enable clinical preceptors to hone certain skills, including designing training programmes, evaluation models, and assessment tools. It also highlights concepts related to return on investment (ROI), the financial aspects of health training programmes, data analysis skills, and processes for interpreting results to support evidence-based decision-making in health education.
The ‘Measuring and Evaluating the Effectiveness of Training’ programme helps align clinical education practices across EHS facilities, fostering continuous improvement. It also reinforces sustainable professional development concepts and promotes excellence in patient care through data-driven, measurable, and impactful training initiatives, in line with EHS’s strategic vision to build a more efficient and sustainable healthcare system.
