As part of its strategy to enhance specialized healthcare quality and adopt cutting-edge medical innovations, Emirates Health Services (EHS) has marked a new milestone with the successful completion of a complex and precise ear surgery using Exoscope technology at Al Qassimi Hospital, a first across its facilities.
The surgery was conducted in collaboration with EHS’s Visiting Consultants Office, featuring the expertise of Dr. Hassan Diab, Head of the Ear Diseases Department at the National Medical Research Center for Otology in Moscow. This achievement underscores the effectiveness of EHS’s global medical partnerships in delivering specialized solutions for complex cases.
Dr. Arif Al Nooryani, CEO of Al Qassimi Hospital, emphasized that this accomplishment reflects EHS’s commitment to providing advanced, innovation-driven healthcare by integrating global expertise. He added, “We continue to empower our medical teams with the latest medical technologies within an environment that fosters excellence and sustainable professional development. This aligns with the goals of the ‘We the UAE 2031’ vision and enhances the quality of life for our community.”
Dr. Eman AlHouli AlSuwaidi, Consultant Otolaryngologist and Head of ENT Department at Al Qassimi Hospital, highlighted that the introduction of Exoscope technology represents a qualitative leap in precision surgeries. “This innovation strengthens Al Qassimi Hospital’s position as a regional reference for treating complex ear disorders,” she stated.
Recently, Al Qassimi Hospital celebrated its 100th cochlear implant surgery under its specialized intervention program. The Exoscope was utilized in one of these procedures, paving the way for broader adoption of the technology in cochlear implant surgeries, particularly for complex cases involving anatomical anomalies. This advancement enhances the hospital’s readiness to deliver world-class medical solutions.
This success aligns with EHS’s strategic goals to equip its healthcare facilities with modern technologies and foster innovation through collaborations with international experts via the Visiting Consultants Program. Such initiatives aim to advance national medical expertise while ensuring the highest global standards of care.
