Emirates Health Services Showcases Pioneering Initiatives and Experiences in Celebration of Emirati Women's Day

Emirates Health Services (EHS) hosted the "Collaborating for a Sustainable Healthy Tomorrow" forum at its Training and Development Center in Sharjah, in line with the UAE's celebration of Emirati Women’s Day on August 28. The event was held under the directives of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chair of the General Women's Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and the Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, also known as "Mother of the Emirates."

The forum saw a significant turnout of EHS employees and featured a distinguished group of influential and inspiring Emirati women in the healthcare sector. It aimed to showcase the UAE's advancements in women's empowerment, promote the outstanding achievements of Emirati women, stress the need for ongoing development and empowerment of Emirati women, and highlight their crucial role in the federal healthcare sector. The event also spotlighted their pioneering contributions to delivering high-quality healthcare services, achieving remarkable milestones, and elevating EHS’ standing at local, regional, and global levels.

On this occasion, H.E. Dr. Yousif Mohamed AlSerkal, Director General of Emirates Health Services (EHS), highlighted that Emirati women embody an inspiring paradigm with their ongoing achievements and exceptional successes across various facets of life. He emphasized that Emirati women's influence transcends societal engagement, as they have ascended to leadership roles in their respective fields.

AlSerkal expressed pride in the pivotal role played by Emirati women in the comprehensive development journey of the country. He noted their initiative, innovation, and their vital contribution to shaping the future, proving day by day that they are a cornerstone in nation-building. He highlighted their essential role in enhancing the UAE's global standing and emphasized the unwavering support of the wise leadership in empowering women to continue achieving successes and excellence in all their aspirations.

AlSerkal emphasized that this occasion is a unique opportunity to honor women and shed light on their active role in various fields, especially in the healthcare sector. He highlighted the significant and exceptional contributions of women that have led to qualitative leaps in healthcare. AlSerkal pointed out that empowering and motivating women is an integral part of the EHS comprehensive strategy.

Dr. Sara AlShaya, Director of the Data and Statistics Department at EHS, highlighted the impressive milestones reached by Emirati women in the UAE's healthcare sector. Their intelligence, expertise, and dedication have allowed them to serve their nation and community effectively. Through a commitment to continuous learning, training, and advancement, they have taken on leadership roles, adeptly faced and overcome challenges, leaving a lasting imprint on the sector and making valuable contributions to its advancement.

The forum included various segments, most notably a panel discussion that delved into three key themes: exemplary models in empowering women and success stories, initiatives by the Emirates Health Services and the UAE to support women, as well as aspirations and the future.

Dr. Ameera Saif Al Khaja, Director of Primary Healthcare Centers in Sharjah at Emirates Health Services and a family medicine consultant, moderated the panel that featured five inspiring Emirati women from diverse fields including medicine, engineering, pharmacy, and nursing. Among them were Nurse Zainab Hashem Al Ali, Head of Nursing, Engineer Samiha AlZarouni, Head of the Medical Equipment Department, Aisha Al Neaimi, Deputy Director of Fujairah Hospital, Dr. Fatima Al Marzooqi, Director of Primary Healthcare Centers in Ajman and a family medicine consultant; and Pharmacist Moza Al Falasi.

The forum featured a range of segments, including a video presentation that showcased the achievements of Emirati women in the healthcare sector. The presentation emphasized their significant contributions to the advancements and developments in various high-quality services provided by EHS. The event concluded with an engaging competition segment for the attendees.
