Emirates Health Services and AIG Hospitals in India have signed a joint cooperation agreement to strengthen collaborative work in several medical, scientific, and research fields, as well as a visiting doctor's programme, thereby contributing to the exchange of expertise and experiences and enhancing the capabilities and efficiency of the medical personnel of both the entities.

H.E. Dr. Yousif Mohammed Al-Serkal, Director-General of Emirates Health Services (EHS), H.E. Dr. Essam Al Zarooni, Acting Executive Director of the Medical Services Sector at EHS, and Dr. GV Rao, Director of AIG Hospitals, and a number of administrative and medical staff from both entities, signed the agreement.

His Excellency Dr. Essam Al Zarooni said the agreement identifies several areas of cooperation that the two entities intend to move forward in developing and upgrading their healthcare services. He explained that EHS seeks to improve the exchange of expertise and experience as part of its strategy to broaden strategic partnerships. This will maintain its position as one of the top organisations in the sector offering the best medical procedures in accordance with the highest international standards. This is aligned with the goals of 'We the UAE 2030' and The UAE Centennial 2071, to prepare a generation that will carry the flag of the future and have the highest scientific abilities that will further enhance the country's status among the world's best nations.

The agreement defines the scope and areas of medical cooperation, including collaboration in the field of clinical services of common interest, assistance in developing an integrated programme for comprehensive healthcare, and providing AIG hospitals with technologies to enhance clinical patient management.

The agreement covers methods to collaborate in residency and fellowship programmes for UAE doctors, as well as reciprocal cooperation to train doctors and other medical professionals. It also includes providing a variety of training programmes and places special emphasis on the creation of health leadership programmes.

The agreement establishes frameworks for research collaboration by developing research infrastructure, innovation programmes, and collaborative initiatives in the field of less-invasive surgical gastroenterology and ensuring better patient care.

It also includes collaboration in the Visiting Physicians Programme, whereby AIG Hospitals will provide physicians of all available sub-disciplines for clinical and educational services at EHS hospitals. These include clinical visits, clinical consultations and assessments, patient follow-up to the treatment plan, medical lectures, conferences, teaching, and clinical education, for both inpatient and outpatient clinics.
