Emirates Health Services Takes Part in ‘UAE Medical Day’ to Recognise Exceptional Efforts and Achievements in the Sector

Emirates Health Services (EHS) has announced its plans to participate in ‘UAE Medical Day’, organised for the first time by Emirates Medical Association on May 9, 2022, to be a yearly occasion to be observed on this date. The idea was approved by the Ministerial Development Council to express gratitude to all healthcare professionals and recognise their efforts to maintain a healthy society. This year’s edition of the event will take place under the theme ‘The UAE Appreciates You’ as an expression of gratitude to all healthcare sector workers, including medical, nursing, technical, and administrative staff. The occasion was created to show appreciation for healthcare workers efforts to maintain a healthy and safe society, guided by the strategic, far-sighted vision of the UAE’s wise leadership to ensure the country’s competitiveness across all sectors, and especially in healthcare.

His Excellency Dr. Yousif Mohammed Al-Serkal, Director-General of EHS, said: “UAE Medical Day is a prominent occasion to highlight the indispensable role that the health services sector plays in ensuring the health and safety of community members and enhancing their quality of life. It is an occasion to raise public awareness of the efforts and accomplishments healthcare workers in the UAE over the years and the great feats we can look forward to in the future.”

“This initiative offers us a new platform to advance the healthcare sector – one that welcomes influential stakeholders and experts in the field of healthcare, including employees, administrators, doctors, nurses, researchers, specialists, experts, and others,” H.E. added. “It is also an ideal opportunity to highlight the role that Emirates Health Services plays and cement its position as a leading entity providing top-quality health services that meet the highest standards and the best international medical practices.”

With support from the Ministry of Community Development, the Ministerial Development Council approved the proposal to designate May 9 of every year as ‘UAE Medical Day’ – a special occasion to highlight the dedicated and noble efforts undertaken by medical and nursing staff, along with all other health service providers, as well as to underline the work done by health authorities and facilities and the pioneering achievements the sector has made in recent years. May 9 will also be an occasion to honour distinguished medical professionals and support them to remain an integral part of the UAE’s world-leading medical system.
