Emirates Health Services wins 8 awards at the 45th IHF World Hospital Congress

Emirates Health Services (EHS) won eight awards at the 45th IHF World Hospital Congress, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, under the theme ‘Achieving Sustainability & How Should We look in 2030?’, from 9 to 11 November 2022 at the Dubai International Convention Centre.

His Excellency Dr. Yousif Mohammed Al-Serkal, Director-General of EHS, asserted that this achievement is a culmination of the significant efforts that Emirates Health Services and its human capital have made to develop the healthcare system, ensure its readiness, and enhance its ability to respond to various health challenges and crises.

“EHS’ accomplishments continue to earn the highest international accolades, strengthened by the support of the UAE’s wise leadership and its directives to strive for leadership, excellence, and competitiveness on the world stage,” H.E. Al-Serkal noted, thanking all team members who have contributed to this major accomplishment, calling on them to keep innovating and contributing creative ideas.

The awards Emirates Health Services won at the 45th IHF World Hospital Congress fall under six main categories. The ‘Mental Health of Older Adults’ project by Al-Amal Hospital’s Clinical Academic Multi-disciplinary Group won the American College of Healthcare Executives Excellence Award for Leadership and Management.

Al-Amal Hospital also won the American Hospital Association Excellence Award for Healthcare Workers’ Wellbeing for its ‘Staff Wellbeing in Mental Health’ project, while Al Qasimi Hospital (AQH) won the American College of Healthcare Executives Excellence Award for Leadership and Management for its project on the ‘Transformation of the AMI, Advanced AV Block and Bariatric Surgery Management by Digitalized Clinical Pathways:  A New Approach to Improve Patient Outcomes’.

AQH also won the Dr. Kwang Tae Kim Grand Hospital Award for its project ‘Pursuing excellence in delivering healthcare services’, while Abdulla Bin Omran Hospital (ABOH) won the Ashikaga-Nikken Excellence Award for Green Hospitals for its project ‘Promoting Sustainability & Green Hospital at ABOH’, and the Training and Development Centre at EHS won the American College of Healthcare Executives Excellence Award for Leadership and Management for its ‘Healthcare Innovation Framework (HCIF)’ project.

Meanwhile, the Information Sector at EHS won the Seddiqi Holding Excellence Award for Corporate Social Responsibility for its ‘Integrated Hi-Tech Health Service Programme’, while the Data and Statistics Department won the Austco Excellence Award for Quality and Patient Safety for its ‘AI-Driven Clinical Programme for the Prediction of Diabetes Disease Burden and Diabetes Management in the Population of the UAE’s Northern Emirates’.
