In conjunction with International Youth Day, and as part of the ‘Fujairah Youth Days’ events, Fujairah Hospital under the Emirates Health Services (EHS), organised a dialogue session titled ‘Bridges Between Generations: Stories from and to Generations’.

This initiative reflects EHS’s commitment to fostering intergenerational dialogue and empowering youth to leverage experience passed down through generations as a catalyst for innovation and sustainability. The session featured an engaging conversation between two speakers across different generations, facilitating the seamless transfer of knowledge, values, and insights to future generations.

Dr. Ahmed Obaid Al Khadeim, Director of Fujairah Hospital, said that investing in youth is not limited to developing their skills but also involves enabling them to benefit from generational expertise. This approach aims to enhance the sustainability of institutional knowledge and meet future requirements.

He added: “Intergenerational dialogue is a vital driver of institutional growth, bridging past wisdom with future possibilities, and equipping youth with the tools to drive meaningful innovation. At EHS, we are committed to providing dynamic platforms that foster this integration, empowering the next generation to actively advance healthcare services and contribute to our national development goals.”

The event aims to enhance communication and dialogue between different generations, reinforce the values of mutual respect, and document inspiring experiences and stories while extracting lessons learned to support the transfer of expertise and knowledge to youth through open discussions. This approach enriches the exchange of ideas and strengthens shared learning.

The session highlighted the pivotal role of youth in building upon the legacy of previous generations. By transforming accumulated wisdom into forward-looking ideas, the discussion generated actionable recommendations to deepen cross-generational collaboration and boost youth involvement in community and institutional programmes. This directly aligns with EHS’s vision to foster an innovation-driven workplace, promote a culture of proactive participation, and deliver sustainable impact.
