H.E. Dr. Yousif Mohammed Al-Serkal, Director-General of Emirates Health Services (EHS), affirmed that the UAE has established an advanced global model for child health care, based on the vision of its wise leadership, which prioritizes child health and well-being, and strives to provide a comprehensive health environment that guarantees the highest levels of care according to international standards.
On the occasion of Emirati Children's Day, he explained that EHS is committed to providing quality and comprehensive services for children from birth to adolescence through an advanced system that includes specialized hospitals, pediatric clinics, preventive care programs, early disease detection services, regular vaccinations, mental health services, nutritional therapy, and other services that meet the needs of children at various stages of their development.
He added that EHS has made significant strides in developing a supportive health environment for children, with several of its facilities accredited as child-friendly by the World Health Organization and UNICEF. This recognition is due to its commitment to comprehensive child care standards, promoting preventive health practices, and adopting supportive policies for maternal and child health, which contribute to improving the quality of health services provided to them.
Al-Serkal pointed out that EHS adopts proactive solutions aimed at improving children's health and enhancing their quality of life, based on a firm belief that caring for children's health today is a direct investment in the health of future generations. He emphasized that EHS will continue to mobilize its efforts to develop health services for children in line with future aspirations, reinforcing the UAE's position as a leading model in childhood care and community health enhancement.
