Emirates Health Services (EHS) has joined the World Health Expo (WHX) Dubai 2026, showcasing a comprehensive suite of innovative, family-centric health projects that are deployed in EHS-affiliated primary healthcare centres.
These initiatives represent a practical implementation of the UAE’s declaration of 2026 as the ‘Year of Family’, and mark a nationwide shift, led by the health sector, towards proactive prevention and enhanced quality of life, in line with national health strategies and vision to build a more efficient, sustainable, and community-centric healthcare system.
His Excellency Dr. Essam Al Zarooni, Executive Director of the Medical Services Sector at EHS, affirmed that establishing a family-centric healthcare model represents a transformative shift from treating disease as a singular episode to managing health as a continuous journey across all stages of life. “The projects launched in this area,” he explained, “reflect a wider federal vision to strategically invest in early prevention, data, and smart technologies as a means to improve health outcomes, reduce future burdens on the healthcare system, and support national targets for quality of life and community health.”
A sustainable care model to support families through all stages of life
Showcased projects include the Family Health Services Package, an interconnected system of preventative and proactive services designed to accompany the family on a continuous health journey from childhood to old age. The model integrates clinical care with prevention technology, offering a key feature that allows for assigning a dedicated doctor to each family to play a central role in coordinating continuous care and long-term follow-up, thereby transforming medical visits into a structured and integrated health journey.
The package also includes reproductive health services supported by genetic, preventative, and virtual reality technologies to support family health planning, along with specialised programmes for adolescent health based on proactive interventions by specialists, including comprehensive assessment and support for adolescents in schools, in-person and virtual medical consultations at health centres – all focused on addressing risky behaviours and promoting mental and physical health. These services are integrated with a healthy aging pathway that focuses on supporting independence and quality of life in advanced age.
Dr. Kareema Al Raesi, Director of the Primary Health Care Department at EHS, noted that the new package reflects a national direction aligned with the UAE’s strategy to establish a proactive and sustainable healthcare model that places the family at the heart of health planning as the fundamental unit for shaping long-term health policies.
The service design is based on a shift from fragmented care to integrated, preventative health pathways that accompany the individual and family through all stages of life, she added, clarifying that to achieve these objectives, the initiative adopts evidence-based comprehensive assessment and health risk prediction models to enable the early detection of diseases and the development of personalised care plans that support long-term healthy living.
Predictive, smart solutions that enhance prevention
Alongside the Family Health Services Package, EHS is highlighting a range of advanced smart projects for family-centric healthcare. These include the AI Cardiovascular Screening project, a system that predicts the likelihood of cardiovascular diseases, pre-diabetes, diabetes, and liver diseases, enabling informed clinical management and early treatment interventions. The system’s accuracy exceeds 90% and its application has been linked to reduced mortality rates, reflecting its ability to bring about a decisive shift in cardiac care and reduce future burdens on healthcare systems.
Furthermore, EHS is showcasing the Smart Child Development Companion project, designed to support child health and development. The innovative, AI-powered platform allows for monitoring a child’s development stages; it revolutionises the tracking of development in early childhood by incorporating computer vision technologies and a real-time motion tracking system capable of assessing infants’ motor and behavioural indicators. This, in turn, allows for continuous, non-invasive monitoring outside the traditional clinical setting and helps bridge a critical gap in the early assessment of growth and development in pediatrics.
Showcased projects also include the Pediatric Respiratory Care project. This AI-supported screening system was developed to align with the UAE’s declaration of 2026 as the ‘Year of Family’. It uses a secure smartphone application that analyses a child’s cough to detect early indicators of potential asthma and respiratory infections, support early preventative intervention, reduce unnecessary emergency visits, and enhance the efficiency of preventative care in pediatrics.
Early autism detection: AI supports the family
In the field of neurodevelopmental disorders, EHS is presenting an advanced model for the early detection of autism using AI, which combines eye-movement tracking with growth indicator monitoring. The smart application can be used at home or in clinics, enabling diagnosis before the age of three, connecting patients to specialised services, and empowering families, firmly positioning the UAE as a global leader in AI-supported, family-centric care.
Emirates Health Services confirms that these projects embody a strategic shift in the concept of healthcare from a treatment-based model to a predictive, proactive system centred on the family and powered by data and artificial intelligence. The initiatives align with the UAE’s objectives for preventative health and quality of life, reinforcing the country’s position as a model to be emulated in terms designing health policies that invest in the individual and the family as the core of sustainable health development.
