World Thalassemia Day is observed on May 8th each year, aiming to raise awareness about this chronic genetic disorder. This day provides an opportunity to spotlight the challenges faced by individuals with thalassemia and their families, and to enhance community understanding and support. Events and awareness campaigns are organized to spread knowledge about the types of thalassemia, the importance of early detection, and the latest advancements in its treatment and management. These efforts also aim to support scientific research and technological development in thalassemia treatment, improve patients' quality of life, and provide psychological and social support for them and their families.
