Kuwait Hospital in Sharjah attracts international medical expertise to provide the best health practices

As part of the Emirates Health Services (EHS) strategy to provide an effective and sustainable health ecosystem, raise the service quality according to the highest international standards and attract scientific expertise and skills, the Kuwait Hospital in Sharjah, in cooperation with EHS' Visiting Consultants Program, hosted Dr. Roy Jay Makada, Senior Consultant and Head of the Endoscopy Department at Royal Care Hospital in India.

The five-day visit saw 16 endoscopic surgeries performed, including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, bile duct endoscopy, gastroscopy with television rays, in addition to examining 30 patients who frequently visit the endoscopy clinic at Kuwait Hospital.

The visit also included educational lectures for medical, technical and nursing staff as well as doctors at the hospital under the title "The Future of Endoscopic Operations in the Treatment of Stomach and Intestinal Diseases". The lectures are part of the capabilities enhancement activities for medical and nursing staff and informing them of the best modern health practices.

Afra Salem, Director of Kuwait Hospital in Sharjah, emphasized the importance of the Visiting Consultants Program, praising the support provided by EHS for the program by promoting the exchange of distinguished scientific expertise and attracting them to the country in order to achieve its vision of excellence and leadership in providing the highest standards of health services.

Through the Visiting Consultants Program, EHS is keen to attract international medical expertise, especially specialists in examining and treating critical and intractable cases, carrying out micro-surgeries, and providing the best medical practices in various specialties, to achieve positive results and outcomes for patients. Furthermore, the program monitors feedback and suggestions to further develop the service and identify the most important specialties that represent a priority to ensure the provision of the best services.

The EHS also seeks to employ the program to raise the indicators of customer satisfaction rates, and to see the most prominent medical specialties and rich experiences that represent a qualitative addition in the field of medical work, strengthening the expansion plans of the EHS health facilities towards hosting qualified doctors in order to enhance the health sector and provide the highest standards of global health services.
